What it covers
European product standard for internal blinds (such as roller, pleated and venetian blinds used indoors). It sets performance requirements and safety requirements, and its A1 amendment brought in requirements on protecting young children from strangulation by cords, chains and loops. The related test methods and safety-device requirements are in EN 16433 and EN 16434. Relevant to: makers and importers of internal blinds, manual or motorised, in Europe.
